Subject: left-handed knitting

Comment: I had to basically teach myself how to knit because I am left handed. Despite the teasing and unkind comments, I was determined to knit. I am the family expert. I taught my sister and a niece who are good knitters too.

Do not give up. It is fun and relaxing to knit

Subject: Encouragement

Comment: Hi, I learnt to knit when I was 7. I'm about to hit the big five o. My first attempts were dubious to to say the least! They were either holey or so tight the needles would squeak! My advice to anyone is don'nt give up it does get better and as they say, practice does make perfect.

Subject: love this site

Comment: I love to knit. This site has helped me tremendously. I enjoy making purses and this site has helped me in finding patterns. I've only been knitting a couple of years but I find it so relaxing and love creating my own style. Thanks again.

Comment: I have just discovered your knitting and crocheting sites. What great sites. These are just what I have been looking for. I have been knitting since 1961 when I was a senior in high school. I stayed with my mom's sister for the spring vacation and she taught me to knit by knitting a plain stocking knit raglan sleeve cardigan sweater at the same time as I was: so when I made a mistake she knew where I was and what I should be doing. She recently told me that I have far surpassed her in my ability to knit. I just love to knit. Before I retired, I would knit on the bus to and from work, on breaks at work and during meetings. When I was driving, I would think is there any way I can knit and drive at the same time: may be no. Thanks again for this site.

Subject: Encouragement!

Comment: This is the best web site! I also love the crochet site you have!!!

I'd like to encourage all beginning knitters. I've only been knitting for a year now. The best advice I've ever had was when I was told to try even though I didn't know if I could do it - and - to be proud of my mistakes. If you are just starting don't discard your first piece (no matter how mistake ridden it may be) keep it and be proud of it... and in a little while you'll be able to see how much you've learned and grown in your knitting. Keep up the good work and don't get discouraged.

Subject: new to knitting

Comment: Thanks so much for posting these patterns. I'm new to knitting (have tried in the past with disasterous results!) but I managed to complete a hat in just two evenings! I'm now working on another one, and plan to make use of several of the easy patterns here as I build up my confidence.

Subject: Thanks

Comment: I have very limited time now to search for patterns and play on the web. What a blessing your sites are to me. I will need something quick to stuff in my bag with my on hand yarn to keep my hands busy and my soul calm. So here you are with the best lists ever. You have gave us such a gift. Thank You
