Comment: Hi I've been here before, I love this site!! When I read all the stories in here, it puts that "spark" back in to knitting for me! Oh, how I love to knit(and crochet) I crochet cute little mice,(there's no pattern for them though, I made them up!!) and they keep me company while I knit, (I even have some of them knitting!) Right now I'm working on a scarf, its a soft blue color. When I was young, i remember seeing my grandmother knit, it looked so cozy to see the blanket on her as she knitted it! I wish so bad I had the "drive" to knit when she was still alive!! Oh, we could have had so much fun, she with her coffee, me with my hot chocolate, sitting by the fire knitting. I dont think theres any thing more tranquilizing than that!! HAPPY KNITTING TO ALL, sincerely,

Comment: I learned to knit as a child from my Nonni and my aunt taught me to crochet. Due to a leg injury 3 years ago I became reacquainted with knitting. I've gotten so that my knitting bag goes with me every where. It is my obession. I make my own needles and embelish them with beads. I recently felted my first purse. I LOVE this site, have it bookmarked and it is my first stop when looking for a pattern. Keep up the GREAT Work!!! {{SMILE}}}

Comment: HI Thank you for this site and the encouragement. I have been knitting off and on for past 2 years. Knitted for a short time when I was a kid put hd no encouragement and no one to talk with about. Now I just found a Tues. night group that meets at a coffee shop and we sit and knit and chat It helps me finish things. It's so miraculous to connect with people by this hobby. I finally can calm the everyday anxiety I have lived with all my life. I'm 42 and life is good. Knitting helps me also with grief. Thanks to the Lord and knitting, I will face life on lifes terms.

Comment: I always knew how to knit but all I knew was the garter stitch..........how boring but in the appartment building where I live someone gave away a great collection of knitting and craft books so I grabbed them all and I finally learned how to do some other stitches like the stockinette stitch.

Comment: I learnt to knit when I was 4 on meat skewers (which my Dad made smooth)by my Grandma. Knitting has been a real stress reliever- you can get yourself lost in your knitting. I have just come across your site - what a beauty - now I have more excuses to knit. It is lovely that we all can become one through such a restful hobby. Comment: I LOVE to knit. My grandmother taught me when I was about 13 and I just picked it up again about a year ago. It really does relax me. I explain it to people that it is very Zen. I become the needles and get lost in the stitch. The only issue I've had though is that all my patterns are written for people who lead the yarn on their right hand and I lead with my left and I don't know how to "flip" the directions. BUT... I refuse to put my needles down.

Comment: I was a very terrible crocheter for many years. I learned the basics when I was 5 but I never really understood the technique until about six months ago when I stumbled across Crochet Pattern Central looking for a baby bootie pattern simple enough for me to make quickly. What a great site! I decided though that if I could crochet beautiful baby things, I could certainly knit as well! So, I have taught myself to knit by using the tutorials on this site. I'm still not very good at it, but I have now knitted some cute baby layettes (with only a few mistakes!) and just last night I completed my very first sock! What pride I take in that accomplishment! Hopefully, I'll find time to make the mate to it! I really thought that I would never get the hang of this, but practice really does make perfect...or at least closer to perfect!

Comment: I had to basically teach myself how to knit because I am left handed. Despite the teasing and unkind comments, I was determined to knit. I am the family expert. I taught my sister and a niece who are good knitters too.

Do not give up. It is fun and relaxing to knit
