Subject: 4th scarf coming in!!
Comment: Hi MousieWoman here, I really enjoy talking about my knitting in here. I'm just so happy to know there are alot of knitters out there!! I am working on my 4th scarf!! (I think those are the easyest to do. I'm making a pretty pink scarf. The only bad thing about the knitting is sometimes if you overdo it, your hands hurt and you have to take a break (even if you really want to knit! )My crochet squeakers(mice) say"hi"

Subject: Just can't put the needles down....
Comment: I've been knitting (off and on) for countless years now, but never finished a project. Until I found this site. Now there's just so many wonderful projects in my head I can barely keep up!

Just recently, I finished the Flickering Flames Skirt (in a lovely, shimmery black yarn) for a convention costume. I wore it over red petticoats, to really show off the pattern. Absolutely everyone that I spoke to at the convention loved the skirt and wanted to know where I bought it. When I told them I knitted it, they were amazed!

Knitting is not only a relaxing, portable project (I take my knitting with me literally everywhere), it's also helping me to quit smoking. I just don't want to set the needles down long enough to smoke a cigarette!

A word of advice: if you can find it, get yourself a copy of The Knitting Answer Book by Margaret Radcliffe. Once I finished the skirt, I found myself itching for a new project, so I started a shawl (in mohair). The pattern calls for garter stitch, and after all this time playing with more advanced techniques, I found I couldn't remember what a garter stitch was! This book is fantastic for beginners and experts alike, whether you need instruction on how to knit, or just a refresher on something that's slipped your mind.

Happy knitting!

Comment: I knit for a place where people living with or dealing with cancer can go for free, Gilda's Club. I make chemocaps, and they really enjoy it.

Subject: If I can knit anyone can!
Comment: I just wanted to say that I always thought that I would never be able to knit. It took me longer than most people and I couldn't understand by watching other people. I am Left handed and dyslexic with ADD. The odds were against me. I was able to teach myself from the stitch n' Bitch book and now I have knit 10 bears for the motherbear project and over 60 preemie hats and booties for the NICU at the hospital my son was born at.

Comment: I've been knitting for 4 years now and I'm 11. People make fun of me for it, but I don't really care. I'm starting a knitting club for our school. I learned how to purl a month age (I knit in garter stitch for 3 11/12 years) I am on my 3rd sweater

Subject: A Rewarding Challenge
Comment: Since I taught myself knitting in November '06, I've discovered something about myself: I love a challenge. I don't find knitting very easy, but I find that I love to challenge myself to try something new every time I pick up the needles, and how weird it is to realize that I've been doing an increase backwards for weeks without realizing it! It's really rewarding to finally get something right on the umpteenth try, even if I have to start all over again so that I actually have something to show for my self-challenges.

Subject: extra projects
Comment: Every knitter has those "extra projects" that they aren't sure what to do with--talk to your local hospital. Many OB units give a baby blanket to the new moms and need people to make them.

Subject: Hey
Comment: Hi, I'm 13 and I have started a Knitting Club at my school, and it's becoming really popular!

Subject: Why did not I start earlier?
Comment: I have been knitting for two months now. I started to think why I did not start doing this earlier! I have just turned 30 and it seems to me that life is not long enough to do all the knitting I want to do!

Subject: Knitting For Men
Comment: My wife was doing it and I got hooked. We're now waiting for our first child and daddy made baby his? her? first poncho. Also, I can finally knit a sweater for granny. She's 83. Cool. She knit for me for 28 years and now I can knit for her.

Subject: The Art of Knitting
Comment: I am 15 years old and have been knitting for about 8 months now. I have become obsessed with knitting. My spare time in school is spent knitting away. I've made numerous scarves for other people. I'm now working on making fingerless band gloves, as I am in marching band. There are so many projects I want to make and everyday I get just a little bit better. Knitting has changed who I am, it's really helped to calm and de-stress me. I don't know what I'd do without it. If there is any knitter out there who is fed up and about to throw their needles away, don't. You never know if you'll get better until you try. Stick with it and it'll come to you. I hope to be a knitter for years to come and I can't wait to start a knitting circle of my own. Keep at it Knitters of the World.

Subject: I Learned to Knit!
Comment: I finally taught myself to knit, and I have to say that for a while I never thought I'd manage it. I have crocheted since I was 9, but I felt so awkward learning to knit. I found some free videos online and they worked like a dream. I'm glad I kept trying.

Comment: Wow, I just happened by the site today, and let me say, it's awesome. I'm 16 and have been knitting 3 years. I had to teach myself, because around me, NO ONE knits, I know shocker. I found this site encouraging, because it lets me know I'm not the only "spaz with sticks" as people at school have taken to calling me. Love the site, good job, and keep up the good work, maybe I'll get to post a pattern soon.
